Judo: A hundred referees and coaches from two Congos were at the school of knowledge in Kinshasa

From Wednesday 7 to Friday 9 December 2022, the National Coordination of Judo Activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo – CONAJU – organized a seminar with two experts from the African Judo Union – AJU -. It was a very good moment of exchanges for the benefit of the coaches and referees of Congo-Kinshasa and Congo-Brazzaville.

More than a hundred referees and coaches from two Congos were at the school of knowledge alongside two AJU experts, Babakar Ngom, Senegalese expert, head of the AJU arbitration commission and Kalhed, Egyptian expert, director of the AJU arbitration commission. It was in a good atmosphere that its meetings took place over three days.

« In a family, some people should not be isolated. In a family, there must always be unity Ngom said. By delivering his own experience, he reveals that he has done 32 years in arbitration. That he started this practice in a club. Therefore, he advises: Each club must have a referee to transmit reliable knowledge to young people. It is necessary that dynamic commissions work there for the upgrading ».

Talking about the behavior of the coach, Ngom explains that when there is a problem, the coach should politely come and ask the officials. ” Judo being global, the referee and the trainer are rigorous people […] The referee must continue to increase his knowledge. The elders will have to transmit their experience to the young people, because the latter copy at home “, he points out.

It was a good learning moment for his judo practitioners in Pool Malebo. Several participants threw flowers at the coordination, mainly to Master Nico Lianza who since his appointment continues to multiply very good initiatives for the advancement of this sporting discipline which interests several rd-Congolese.
