Jeongeup City, Korea University and Business Badminton Federation signed an agreement to hold a national tournament

Badminton championships held by federation for 4 years from 2024

On the 29th, Jeongeup City signed an agreement with the Korea University/University Badminton Federation under the Korea Badminton Association to hold the National Federation Type (University/General) Badminton Championships.

Mayor Lee Hak-soo, Jeongeup City Council chairman Go Kyung-yoon, Korean University Federation president Lee Hyeong-gwan, and Korea Unemployment Federation president Kim Joong-soo attended the agreement ceremony held in the middle conference room of Jeongeup City Hall that day.

According to the agreement, the city will hold the National Federation Type (University/General) Badminton Championships in Jeongeup for 4 years from 2024 to 2027 to revitalize the local economy and expand the base of badminton.

The National Federation Type (University/General) Badminton Championships is a competition in which about 700 badminton players and officials from all over the country participate.

During the event, the city expects not only to revitalize the local economy, such as lodging and catering, but also to promote the city of Jeongeup.

Mayor Lee Hak-soo said, “When the complex gymnasium in Jeongeup City is completed, it will be possible to hold elementary and middle school badminton competitions nationwide.”
