JC Sombreffe as Santa Claus for the poorest

This Wednesday, the JC Sombreffe judokas offered 40 gift packages to the poorest in the town. They each contained a game, a warm product (scarf), a hygiene product and sweets. “I had noticed that this type of initiative existed in different places and I thought that we could also bring our stone to the building”, explains Jean-Louis Allard, the manager of the judo club. “My daughter works at the CPAS in the town and put me in touch with the non-profit association “Com’au resto” which was directly receptive. »

The club members were also, and their generosity exceeded expectations. “I expected to receive 10 parcels but I had 40. The children felt directly concerned but also the parents. Alongside, they also collected clothes. Athletes do not always convey good images, I wanted that to change and above all to help local people, close to us. »

The JC Sombreffe will be talking about him again in a good month since he will organize the provincial youth championships on February 5th. “The club is reborn. A year ago, we had only 15-20 members and we have grown to about 60. Thanks to the municipality, we will benefit from the sports hall. We want this to be a judo festival. We have already created a promotional video. Admission will be free and so will registration.
