INDES will provide the federations with more than $1 million for the initial phase of preparation for the San Salvador 2023 Games – Diario La Página

There is no time to lose. The ad honorem president of the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (INDES), Yamil Bukele, announced this afternoon that they will deliver more than $1 million to the sports federations that will see action at the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, to be held from June 23 to July 8 of next year.

“We have allocated more than $1,000,000 (one million dollars) as the first stage so that the national federations begin the preparation of our athletes and teams that will compete in the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games,” the official revealed.

Bukele has repeatedly stated that, although El Salvador does not aspire to win the sports tournament, it does intend for national athletes to face the competition in the best way and have the best possible results.

“We have issued instructions to these national sports federations so that they send INDES the preparation plans for their athletes to start 2023 in the best way, always seeking the dignity of the great family of national sports,” added Bukele.

Along the same lines, the president of INDES explained that the chess federation will receive $10,000; athletics, $30,000; badminton, $25,000; basketball, $50,000; handball, $40,000; baseball, $20,000; bowling, $10,000 and the boxing federation, $10,000.

For its part, the cycling federation will receive $35,000; equestrian, $10,000; fencing, $10,000; bodybuilding, $55,000; soccer, $60,000; gymnastics, $10.00; golf, $10,000; hockey, $40,000; judo, $10,000 and karate, $55,000.

While the weightlifting federation will receive $10,000; fights, $10,000; swimming, $55,000; skating, $45,000; rowing, $65,000; rugby, $20,000; softball, $40,000; surfing, $25,000; taekwondo, $10,000; tennis, $25,000; table tennis, $10,000; sport shooting, $45,000; archery, $70,000; triathlon, $10,000; sailing, $25,000 and volleyball, $50,000.

It must be remembered that El Salvador, as the main venue for the Central American and Caribbean Games, will host the competitions of 32 sports; while, in the Dominican Republic, as a sub-venue, seven sports will be developed.

Likewise, according to the respective Manual of Qualification Systems for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, 14 sports disciplines to be held in San Salvador 2023 will grant tickets to that continental fair.
