BOLASPORT.COM – After so many full moons, Ilija Spasojevic finally returned to feel in the Indonesian national team uniform when hosting Cambodia in the 2022 AFF Cup.

This will be Ilija Spasojevic’s first match with the Indonesian national team after not being called up for three years.

The 35-year-old striker last defended the Garuda squad in 2019 when they won 2-0 over Myanmar in trials.

However, Spaso’s debut, as Ilija Spasojevic’s nickname, did not go smoothly against Cambodia.

Spaso was introduced in the second half to replace Muhammad Rafli as the kicker.

However, during the 45 minutes on the field, Spaso was not much involved in the Indonesian national team’s game.

The Bali United bomber was seen several times wasting chances to score goals.

One of them was when he failed to receive Edo Febriansah’s through ball in the 76th minute.

Spaso also tends to hold on to the ball for too long which irritates Shin Tae-yong.
