December 5, 2022, Goeree-Overflakkee – In the past 4 weeks, a large number of children on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee participated in various sports activities for free. Through ‘GO Sport’ the children could take 4 trial lessons to get acquainted with new sports. In October, children at Goeree-Overflakkee could register for 17 different sports. Consider, for example, kickboxing, badminton, gymnastics, freerunning, dance or karate. In the end, 234 children took part in this sporty project in November. So a great success.
Get to know the sports offer on the island
The goal of GO Sport is to enthuse children and to introduce them to the sports on offer at Goeree-Overflakkee in an accessible way. It motivates children to join the organization where they have followed the lessons.
Every year there are more associations that offer their activities at GO Sport. As a result, more and more children from all villages are getting the opportunity to discover the sports on offer. The GO Sport Team hopes that even more associations will offer trial lessons in the next GO Sport round.
