Tomas Cīrulis was present at important sidecar motocross events for Latvia, capturing the achievements of Kristers Serģ and Artas Rasmani in the world championships. Motocross was not one of Tomas’s interests at one time – he liked sports, but he himself studied at the Latvian State Conservatory and worked in radio advertising. In 1997, as a radio reporter, he traveled to the world championship in sidecar motocross, where Latvian riders won the first title. Later, Tomas bought a video camera and started filming. In 1998, Sergis and Rasmanis invited Tomas to work with fans and become the team’s press attaché. Work on attracting sponsors followed later.

Tomas was present at the moments of winning all the world championship titles ¬– from 1999 to 2003 he went to all the competitions. The scenes filmed by him were broadcast by the program “Zebra” and they were broadcast at the national level, showing finishes and victories, accidents and the most unusual moments.

During these times, Thomas found a box of twenty-year-old video tapes in the attic and, after watching them, realized that the historical footage could be interesting both for the riders themselves and for future generations. This is how his YouTube channel was born, where viewers from all over the world get excited about sidecar motocross.

How Tomas was able to leave his comfort zone in an unknown profession and live with sportsmen’s disagreements is clarified in the latest episode of the program “Atruma cilts”.

The program “Atruma cilts” is offered by the portal “Delfi” in cooperation with “LMT Viedtelevizija”.
