How good is Kiyan Anthony? NBA star Carmelo Anthony’s son takes on Bronny James – Jugo-Mobile

We are over 20 years from the legendary high school basketball game between St. Vincent-St. Mary’s and Oak Hill Academy, where LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony competed on a national stage.

These two have already played in the NBA for over two decades and cemented their future legacy in the Hall of Fame, but their sons are just getting started.

On Monday, December 12 at 11:30pm ET, Bronny James and Kiyan Anthony will – just like their fathers – go head-to-head when Christ the King (NY) visits Sierra Canyon (CA) in Chatsworth, California.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 and televised can be streamed on ESPN+giving the nation the first chance to see LeBron’s kid and Melo’s kid compete.

While Bronny is already a senior at Sierra Canyon, Kiyan is only a sophomore at Christ the King.

As a 15-year-old, Anthony’s game is just beginning to develop, but let’s take a look at how he’s fared on the high school and AAU stages so far, as well as a check-in on his college recruitment.

Meet Kiyan Anthony

Secondary school

Anthony is only his second year with Christ the King but the 15-year-old is already making a name for himself. The 6-3, 165-pound shooting guard is a four-star prospect ranked 62nd best player in the class of 2025 by 247Sports.

For years we’ve seen videos of Kiyan at the gym with his father Carmelo and well-known NBA coach Chris Brickley.

Last fall, Anthony competed in an Overtime Elite Showcase and seemed extremely comfortable against some high profile 18-20 year old prospects.

Kiyan posted 20 points, five rebounds and three steals, showing his ability to create his own shot, dribbling his defenders and putting down the 3-ball.

Anthony is entering his first high school season in which he will receive varsity minutes and sophomore standout recently spoke to 247Sports’ Dushawn London about his areas of improvement Here’s to a big year.

“I want to show people how hard I’ve worked,” Anthony told 247Sports. “We have a lot of talent in the team so I want to show how we’ve all been training hard in the gym and improving each other and hopefully it pays off and we can win.

“Individually, I’m working on my defense and ball rebound as I grow and get longer. I want to be a shotmaker and a three-time goalscorer. I want to be able to go to the basket and shoot in the middle and hit the 3 during a game.”

Anthony’s first major test will come on Monday December 12th at the national level against Bronny James.

college recruitment

Back in November, Anthony received an official offer from his father’s alma mater, Syracuse.

In the same interview with 247Sports’ LondonKiyan spoke about what the offer from Syracuse meant to him.

“I’ve been waiting for this offer for a while and it meant a lot to me just because my dad went there and won a national championship there,” said Anthony. “A lot of people have been waiting for me to have that on my checklist. It means a lot to me to have the chance to continue the legacy.

“My father tells me that he loves school and that it is like home for him. He says I’m only a sophomore and should keep my options open and explore all aspects.”

Syracuse joins a shortlist of schools like Memphis, George Mason, Manhattan and Bryant that have already been offered to the son of a future Hall of Famer.
