Max Verstappen already managed to grab his second world title in Formula 1 in 2022 and with his 25 years young, it seems that he has more than enough time to add more titles to his credit. Christian Horner thinks it is a ‘frightening’ thought that Verstappen still has a whole future ahead of him.

Verstappen has managed to close his best season in Formula 1 with a victory at the Yas Marina Circuit with victory number fifteen of this season. The Dutchman was actually supreme all weekend on the circuit where he managed to crown himself world champion for the first time in 2021. It was the icing on the cake of a smooth season, in which he already managed to crown himself champion in Japan with four races to go. In 2023, the world champion will again hunt for a title behind his name.

Coil packed Ferrari

After the end of the season, Horner looks back on the dominant-looking season of Verstappen and his team. “It was a really tough year. If you look at the stats, it looks like we totally dominated. Ferrari had their chances in the first half of the season. They had the faster package, but Max was incredible throughout the year , and I’m mainly talking about the first part of the season,” the British team boss looks back on the year in which his team took the first constructors’ championship since 2013.

Frightening

Verstappen’s counter now stands at two world titles, 35 victories, twenty pole positions and all that at the age of 25. Horner thinks it’s not an encouraging thought for the competing drivers and teams. “Whatever Max is going to achieve in his career, he has done so much in such a short time. At the age of only 25 it is quite frightening to think of what lies ahead of him.”
