For the first time in the history of burst sport, Mexico will host a U-17 Women’s World Cup.
“Thanks to the efforts of the Mexican Basketball Sports Association AC (Ademeba Nacional), through its president, Modesto Robledo, and the National Teams Project, headed by Omar Quintero, The FIBA Central Board granted Mexico the organization of the Women’s U17 World Cup”, said the Mexican National Team.
This international-class event will be held from July 13 to 21, 2024. “It will be the first time that our country will host a basketball event of this level,” closed the national team.
The institution detailed how the hosts were chosen: “The multi-year venue model, presented by FIBA in 2019, allows National Federations to organize consecutive Youth World Cups, both male and female U17 and U19”.

The international organization explained that one of its long-term objectives is to develop basketball in youth categories, which is why they seek to improve opportunities for young basketball players, coaches and federations.
In addition to our country, Switzerland will also host its first Youth World Cup and will do so with the 2025 edition in the men’s branch from June 28 to July 6.
