Following a start to the season chaotic, ASVEL has just won a second consecutive victory in the EuroLeague, enough to put a smile on the faces of the fans. After the match against Partizan, Nando De Colo also spoke about the form of his team, with a big update for TJ Parker.

After a big period of crisis, ASVEL is doing a little better with a victory as a boss on the Barcelona floor last week, and a demonstration in the French championship against Paris. President Tony Parker’s men therefore had the opportunity to breathe fresh air this Tuesday against Partizan, but also to find their public, very angry with the management and the coach.

Nando De Colo explains how he cropped TJ Parker

Mission accomplished brilliantly, since the Rhodanians won 91-87 on their floor, grabbing a few places in the standings in the process. After the meeting, Nando De Colo was invited to speak at the microphone of Skweek, and he explained why things were going better in the franchise. Obviously, the players made a big update to TJ Parker!

I have always said that our progress does not depend on a match or training, it is through hard work that it comes. Every day we try to repeat things. We will say that over the last two or three weeks we haven’t had a lot of training, it’s a crazy rhythm that we are going through, with a lot of matches and a lot of travel. Everything goes through communication between us, the players.

We also try to talk as much as possible with the technical staff. We all know we have open communication and we can try to reframe things to make it better. Here, we tried to reduce our game systems a little, to put the players more in their favorite register, then defensively, we want to continue to be together as much as possible.

In recent weeks, the players have reportedly made their displeasure quite clear to TJ Parker and all of his staff, asking for simple adjustments to get back on the winning streak. It may seem basic, but Nando De Colo asked for fewer but more efficient systems, and above all roles that correspond more to the qualities of each one. For the moment the results prove him right with 3 consecutive victories.

TJ Parker may have wanted to do too well by inventing many systems and asking too much to some players. At the request of his group, he simplified the game of ASVEL, and as luck would have it, they chained victories.
