VOLTURNO CASTLE. In Castel Volturno, via Antonio Gramsci, near the local pizzeria Primavera, the carabinieri of the Mondragone Territorial Department, as part of targeted services aimed at combating crimes in general, arrested a 51-year-old from Naples, held responsible for detention and carrying a firearm, receiving stolen goods and aggravated threats against the owners of the aforementioned pizzeria in a public place.

On the evening of 23 December, the man, following a dispute that arose for trivial reasons outside the pizzeria with the owners of that business, first threatened them with a baseball bat and then, after walking away with the own Fiat Idea car, returned armed with a rifle in search of the “targets” who, realizing the attacker’s return, managed to flee through the neighboring streets.

The arrest and search

At the juncture, a police patrol in transit in that area, informed of the incident by the victims themselves, set out in search of the man who was identified, blocked and arrested. Subjected to a vehicle search, he was found in possession of a semi-automatic rifle cal. 9 flobert, without brand and serial number and with one bullet in the cartridge chamber; of 16 cartridges of the same caliber and a baseball bat.

The arrested person was taken to the prison of Santa Maria Capua Vetere.
