Experienced striker Vladimír Růžička Jr. terminated his contract with Slavia in the first league by mutual agreement. It is not yet known where his next steps will lead.

Slavia left the departure of a large pre-season reinforcement without further comment.

“During the national team break, both parties mutually agreed to terminate the existing contract,” says the stapled website. “We thank Vláď for his services and wish him the best of luck in his future hockey career and personal life.”

Růžiček’s return home to Eden lasted only half a year – and specifically 21 games in which he recorded twelve points (4+8). In the struggling Slavia, it was enough for him to take fifth place in the team’s points, but his performances were in any case below expectations.

Růžička returned to Slavia in the summer after eight seasons spent in Chomutov, Sparta, Hradec Králové and Austrian Dornbirn. But instead of Prague being the dark horse of the competition, they are fighting for survival – they are currently second to last.

Slavia is trying to change the unfavorable development of the season. Head coach Jiří Veber left the team in mid-October, but even after the arrival of Daniel Tvrzník, there was no significant improvement in results.

The stitches also extend to changes in the squad: an experienced defender has arrived
