G7 leaders vow to send financial aid to Ukraine as Zelensky calls for weapons and fuel
G7 leaders, including US President Joe Biden, agreed to create a platform involving different institutions to coordinate financial aid for Ukraine. The G7 leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reached this agreement after holding a virtual summit, in which the Ukrainian president requested new shipments of tanks, artillery, long-range missiles, among other weapons. Zelensky also called on allies to send natural gas to Ukraine, as the country has had to take power rationing measures because of Russian attacks that damaged Ukraine’s power infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelensky: “The terrorism exercised against our power plants [eléctricas] made it necessary to use more gas than we had planned. That’s why we need more support, especially this winter. We are talking about an additional two billion cubic meters of natural gas. This is the additional amount we need to buy.”

Overnight, Ukrainian military sabotaged a key bridge near the Russian-occupied southern city of Melitopol in what would be the latest setback for the Russian military.
