From Germany: Vasseur, total dedication to Ferrari – Formula 1

Earlier this week the Ferrari formalized the change at the top of the management of the Scuderia between the outgoing Mattia Binotto and Frederic Vasseur, who left Alfa Romeo Sauber to take up the challenge of the Prancing Horse. The Maranello management has in fact identified in the French manager who has been in the motoring world for over 25 years the right figure to give new impetus to the team’s ambitions, which in 2022 finished in second place both among the drivers and among the constructors. And the French engineer in the release released to the press underlined the desire to honor the history and legacy of Ferrari, which he considers the pinnacle of the racing world. Despite the multiple activities in which he is the protagonist – such as that of driver manager, owner of the ART team and founder of Spark, a company that supplies chassis in Formula E -, Vasseur will devote all his commitment and attention to the Ferrari.

This was revealed by Michael Schmidt, an authoritative signature of the Germans of Auto, motor and sport: “A discussion was necessary, why being a Ferrari team principal means being in Maranello 24 hours a day, seven days a weekwhich Vasseur did not do at Sauber. The announcement was delayed precisely due to the ‘arrangement’ of the various transalpine activities e Vasseur will therefore always be present at Maranello. The other indiscretions from the Stuttgart magazine website seem to be positive for Ferrari fans, given that the Red “has the strongest power unit” is that it can be expected that it will resume the power seen in early 2022 after fixing the reliability issues. As far as tire degradation problems are concerned, there is talk of one “aerodynamic imbalance” generated by the updates arrived at the French GP, and this problem too seems to have been identified by the work group of the Italian team. Finally, according to Michael Schmidt, Mattia Binotto will take a break to see how the first months of 2022 will go, and he does not see his landing as team principal of Alfa Sauber – Audi from 2026 – likely given the presence of Andreas Seidl as CEO.
