FOOTBALL: Can’t wait for the truce for AC Amiens

Dominating is not winning… TheAC Amiens lost a fourth straight time in N3against Maubeuge and at home, during the 10th day.

The Amiens started the match in the right way and directly put their opponents in danger thanks to their pressing. From the first minutes, Amiens carried the danger towards the opposing goal. Ozcan Cetiner arrived with the ball in the box and stared at the goalkeeper, to shift Zahir Zerdab which ended in the empty goal (1-0, 3′). Maubeuge only took a few minutes to react. Kévin Brancourt penetrated Abdoul Ba’s area and because of a bad appreciation action, the defense did not react quickly enough. The Maubeugeois striker adjusted the Samarian goalkeeper to equalize (1-1, 12′).

The battle took place mainly at milieu. But the ACA players carried the ball close to the opponent’s box on many occasions, without being able to achieve the occasions. Like, for example, the Amiens striker Zerdab who, after having controlled a ball that had returned to his feet in the box, sent a heavy shot over the top, when all the conditions were met for his personal double. The two teams returned to the locker room on a parity score (1-1).

The success chose its side in the second period

The people of Amiens were coming back determined and Pierre Slidja finally found the way to the nets, unfortunately in a position of off-side. Both teams created very few chances when the hour mark was reached. The referee awarded a free kick well placed for Charly Rosso and his teammates: the Amiens captain hit him and the ball passed a few centimeters from the skylight. It was then Zahir Zerdab who showed up again dangerousin position to shoot, he armed a huge shot but Valentin Prévost saved his people from a wonderful tap.

A few minutes later, the referee had to deal with a tense situation after the Maubeugeois David Moke threw the Amiénois Mohamed Labhiri against the barrier following a violent contact. The USM coach then preferred to take out his number 11, to bring in Coulibaly Diaby. This choice turned out judicious since a few minutes later, the northern striker allowed his teammates to Take (the) advantage following a pass that pierced the Samarian defense (1-2, 72′). Azouz Hamdane’s men pushed to equalize, with in particular a good action from Ozcan Cetiner who, after a solitary ride, was on target, but too close to the goalkeeper. The Amiens failed to equalise.

Azouz Hamdan satisfied despite defeat

“They must also be wondering how they won this game. We made for me the game of our start of the season, despite the loss. As I told my players, they must not have no regrets, they made the match they needed. But unfortunately, we repeat our mistakes. Even if I’m disappointed with the result, I’m happy with the performance.” explained Azouz Hamdanecoach of AC Amiens.

The ACA therefore underwent a fourth defeat in the league and now finds himself at the 12th place, with 9 points.
