Fluminense agrees to sign Guga — Fluminense Football Club

This Wednesday (12/14), Fluminense agreed to hire right-back Guga. The 24-year-old player was at the historic center of Laranjeiras to sign a contract with the club until December 2025. He will wear shirt number 23, the same one he wore when he defended the Brazilian Under-23 team.

“It is a great pleasure to wear this shirt, as it is a club with a huge history. When I had that opportunity, I had no doubts in replying that I really wanted to come and put my name in the history of this club as well. I come to add, to be happy, to be another crazy person and, God willing, to win titles. It is the dream of any player to wear the shirt of Fluminense and I am fulfilling it”, said the player.

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Guga started his career at Avai. After standing out for the club from Santa Catarina in the 2018 season, he transferred to Atlético-MG, where he accumulated titles and great performances, which earned him calls to the Brazilian Olympic Team. With the U-23 team from Brazil, the winger won the Toulon Tournament title, in France.

The full-back was full of praise and sent a message to the tricolor crowd.

“In addition to making a lot of noise and pushing the team a lot, Fluminense fans are very beautiful, they throw big parties. I hope to give them a lot of joy, to be recognized for helping and for delivering my best. There will be no lack of desire and you can be sure that I will do everything to make this crowd very happy”, he said.

Guga is the first reinforcement for next season announced by Tricolor. The club also renewed with important players for the team, such as striker Germán Cano, midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso, midfielder André and defender Manoel, in addition to formalizing the stay of coach Fernando Diniz.
