Rio Grande do Sul Pampeanas – Rio Grande do Sul women’s flag football team, with eight players from Santa Maria Soldiers, came in 3rd place in the Copa Sul. In the competition held this weekend (10th and 11th) in Timbó, SC, the champion was Desterro Atlantis, from Florianópolis, while Sirius Flag, from Corupá and Jaraguá do Sul, ended up with the silver medal. In last place was the host team.

With a campaign of 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss, the Gauchos failed to qualify for the grand final. However, they disputed the decision for the bronze medal, this Sunday morning, and won the women’s division of Timbó Rex by 61 to 7.
With the competition concluded, the women’s flag football season for the Gauchos is over. For 2023, Santa Maria Soldiers announced, in the SOLDIERS DAY, that the Soldiers will compete in the Campeonato Gaúcho, in the first semester, the Copa RS, in the second half of the year, and the stage of the South Region of the Copa do Brasil, still without a confirmed date. A selection to recruit new athletes will take place in January.
