Endurance: Rebecca Cuccuru wins the Sardinian Pony championship dedicated to Martina Berluti

The final stage of the Regional Pony Endurance Championship which took place in the Agris facilities of Tanca Regia was dedicated to the memory of Martina Berluti, the unfortunate champion who died at the age of 17 at the end of August due to an accidental fall from her horse while training. Just under forty riders and amazons who competed in the various categories. The highest one, the Elite, reserved for athletes between 8 and 14 years old, over a distance of 10.8 km, was won by Rebecca Cuccuru riding Rebelde.
In the Sardinian championship Rebecca Cuccuru preceded Martina Dessì on Eragon and Marina Cimino on Rebeldinho.
In category B Alessandro Desole won on the pony Pallina, while in category A (reserved for athletes between 5 and 12 years old) success of Alessia Deidda on Spirit del Golfo.
Competitions were also held in the Starter categories (Marcello Piras won on Rebelde) and in Paraendurance which is part of the equestrian rehabilitation activities for many pathologies.
At the end of the event, Fise Sardegna, through the president Stefano Meloni, delivered a commemorative plaque to Martina’s parents who in turn wanted to donate a plaque to the regional committee.
Sunday 11th December always in the Agris facilities of Tanca Regia the Sardinia Endurance Cup Final for categories Cen A, Cen B and Debutants. Competitions are also planned for the Under 14 category.
The event is dedicated to the memory of Gianni Mura, the dean of Endurance riders who died last year. The rider Irene Avitabile, who died in 2016, will also be remembered with a plaque.
