Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez once again provoked France’s Kylian Mbappé, who lost in Sunday’s World Cup final. During the festivities this Tuesday, in Buenos Aires, the guardian of the alviceleste was photographed, inside the panoramic bus, holding a doll with a picture of the sad PSG footballer’s face. With four million people in the streets celebrating the title, the moment was captured by several Argentine fans and quickly spread across social media.
This honestly makes me laugh, if you were to show this image to a causal football fan that didn’t watch the final, you’d think Emi Martínez had Kylian in his pocket all game. The truth is, Mbappé made this guy pick the ball out of the back of the net 4 times.

Mbappé scored three goals in the decisive game of the World Cup in Qatar. However, the effort was insufficient for France to win its third title in the competition, even though it earned the PSG player the top scorer award.
Sunday, after the final whistle, Martínez started with a gesture of recognition towards the PSG striker. In the middle of the pitch, Mbappé was being consoled by the French President, Emmanuel Macron, when Emiliano Martínez stopped the celebrations, approached and lifted the Gaul from the ground.
Already after having lifted the trophy, and inside the locker room, Martínez asked for a minute of silence for Mbappéin an attitude that contrasts with the gesture of fair play that took place on the pitch.
