He just goes on, and on, and on!

Danish badminton star Viktor Axelsen is rounding off a terrific 2022.

On Thursday, he played his way through to the semi-finals of this year’s season finals, which will be played in the Thai capital, Bangkok.

Here he eliminated his Japanese opponent Kodai Naraoka, who is number 14 in the world, with the numbers 21-5, 21-15.

The 28-year-old Danish world number one had previously had a good start to the tournament when he defeated Chinese Lu Guang Zu without any major problems on Wednesday.

On Friday, the last match of the group stage awaits, where the Indian Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar is the opponent.

Viktor Axelsen has only lost two matches in the whole of 2022.

The semi-final defeat to Indian Lakshiya Sen in the first tournament of the year and a defeat to Loh Kean Yew from Singapore at the Denmark Open in October.

But in addition, the world star from Funen has sat firmly on the throne in men’s singles for the past 12 months.

Here, among other things, he has won the World Cup and All England, while he was recently named the world’s best male badminton player.

It is the second year in a row that Viktor Axelsen has won the prestigious award.
