“Don’t talk about baseball, politics and religion”…The meaning of the words my father gave me[Yuru Pub]

Words from my father before becoming a member of society.
Keep at least 3,000 yen in your wallet.
And don’t talk about politics and baseball and religion.
I still remember this.

The reason for the 3,000 yen in the wallet is that young people should keep this amount for when they go out to dinner with friends.

Well, baseball and religion (which are now being taken out in various ways) are basically personal issues, but let’s start with baseball. My father was a big fan of Hanshin Tigers, but his reason for refraining from talking about baseball may have been a little negative. His father amputated one of his legs due to a childhood injury. Sadaharu Oh may have been hurt when the word “one-legged batting method” became popular during his prime. Somehow I noticed it. So the story of baseball… might be too much of a leap. However, it took a lot of courage to call myself a Hanshin fan when most people in Fukui Prefecture were said to be Giants fans, and I think they were worried about me.

As for politics, why? It is a feature of this country that even talking about it is considered taboo, even though it has a big impact on our lives with fixed policies. When I post about politics on social media, the response is less than one-tenth of what it usually is. But when I actually talk face-to-face, or in other posts, the reaction is the same.

I think it would be healthier for each political party to sympathize with and support the policy, but it will be a difficult situation. The most common response is that no matter what you say, nothing will change, so you have no choice but to silently follow what has been decided. But if the voters are a little more active, there are many things that can be changed by changing the elected politicians. That is the democracy of Japanese people’s sovereignty.

The sovereignty to make Japan and local governments better belongs to the voters, so among the opinions of my father who I loved so much, this is the only policy that will improve Japan and the region where I live without protecting it, and how to realize it. I would like to bring up the topic of politicians who are willing to help, so that as many people as possible can take an interest in politics. If that happens, I think that many politicians will think more seriously about citizens, and politicians will appear who will revive Japan, the only developed country that has not grown economically for more than 25 years. increase.
