Don’t go too high after the holidays

Olot has a clear purpose before the end of the year: to prevent it from going too high after the Christmas break. The Reds have two key games before the holidays to hang on to the relegation zone. The first, today (12:00 p.m.) against CD Ibiza in crisis, and the next against Mallorca B the next day.

Since Jonathan Risueño landed on the bench, Olot is finding himself with vital duels almost every week. In Can Misses 3, the volcanic team will look to continue the good feelings against Hércules to return home with the three points.

Doing so would be a double victory, as the Balearics are in decline and have added just one point from the last fifteen in play. In fact, the bad streak ended with coach Raúl Garrido (former coach of Olot), sacked this week.

Neither Castells, fully recovered from injury, but still lacking competitive pace, nor Eloi Amagat have traveled to Ibiza. On the other hand, he has entered the Cerdà call. Despite the bad moment of the Ibizans, Risueño only focuses on his team: “In the situation we are in, we don’t pay much attention to how the opponent is doing either. We approach each game with the mentality of winning, no matter who the opponent is, from the top or bottom.”

Olot has never won in the Balearic Islands. Returning, in the middle of the off-season, with the triumph under the arm of Ibiza would be a small party.
