The 40-year-old Spaniard, who also won Spain’s Vuelta a Espana three times and the Giro d’Italia twice overall, posted a video on Instagram in which he pulled up his shirt to show how toned his body was with bandages. Both legs are also wrapped.

“Yesterday it was time to go to the repair shop. I needed some lipomas removed and it turns out I have over 100,” he writes.

Contador pointed to a bike propped against the wall behind him and said he hoped to be on it “in about a month.”

A lipoma is a fatty, non-cancerous growth between the skin and muscle. It is usually harmless.
