Club Villa Francisca occupies first judo invitational place

SANTO DOMINGO. The Villa Francisca Club team took first place in the Villa Francisca Judo Christmas Invitational Tournament held on Saturday with athletes from the minor categories.

The contest, which had a special dedication to the judoka Moira Morillo, included the participation of athletes from clubs and associations of that sport.

To win the first place trophy, the representation of the Villa Francisca Club collected eight gold medals, five silver medals and the same amount of bronze.

Second place went to the judokas from Monte Plata, who finished with a total of six medals, including three gold and three silver.´

With three gold medals, two silver and a pair of bronze, the delegation of the Azua Judo Association took third place, while the fourth step was occupied by San Pedro de Macorís, with two first-place metals, six silver and two bronze.

Club Naco finished in fifth place by getting two gold, two silver and one bronze medals, while the San Cristóbal Judo Association achieved sixth place with two gold and three bronze medals.

The Santo Domingo province, with one gold, one silver and three bronze medals, ranked seventh, while the Duarte province, with one gold, was in eighth place.

The contest, organized by the Villa Francisca Club and the endorsement of the Dominican Judo Federation (Fedojudo), included the participation of athletes from Monte Plata, Azua, San Pedro de Macorís, Club Naco, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo, Duarte, Kozen Judo, Casa Nacional Club, UASD and Tavares Judo Club.
