Castelnaudary. La Recyclotopia teems with projects

the essential
The association has taken up residence in the former Andréossy high school. La Recyclotopie offers second-hand, refurbished items. A good way to fight waste. Workshops are also offered.

Since they have been authorized to welcome the public to their premises in the former Andréossy high school, the volunteers of La Recyclotopia no longer know where to turn as the projects are so jostled! The shop section reveals to the public the many recycled and refurbished objects alongside the superb creations of the team’s creatives: toys, decorations, pieces of textile, bicycle wheel lamps or washing machine drums… Quantity of objects that make beautiful eco-responsible gifts and whose weight indicates as the sales progress the kilograms of waste saved through the second chance. The wood and sewing workshops allow members to indulge their passions and the IT center is gradually taking shape with a future coworking space in sight. Computer volunteer volunteers are working hard to breathe new life into tired computers by freeing them from heavy software and training their owners in free software: a real success for this formula! From January, the shop will be open every Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to noon, except during school holidays: “we are all volunteers, we are mobilizing to ensure the permanence on our personal time, explains the co-president Séverine We are also in the midst of thinking about setting up a new unifying project for 2023 in order to give even more meaning to our actions.” To meet the team, go Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from January in their premises at 60, rue du Général Rollet in Castelnaudary (next to the archery), on their website or their Facebook page.
