Carter Hart on the floor?

Could the Philadelphia Flyers, already having a tough season, be without goaltender Carter Hart for a while?

The 24-year-old goalkeeper was injured on Friday against the Hurricanes after being hit by forward Seth Jarvis, himself pushed by Flyers defender Rasmus Ristolainen. Hit in the upper body, Hart may have suffered a concussion on the sequence, since the keg of Jarvis came to hit his mask.

Hart came on as a relief to younger colleague Samuel Ersson in what ended up being a 6-5 loss for Philadelphia.

Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said more about Hart’s condition will be known when the team returns to practice on Tuesday, according to Phillyhockeynow.com.

The Flyers already have one of the worst records in the NHL with their 11-17-7 record. Hart, who went 10-11-6 with a 2.89 GAA goals-against average and .911 save percentage, was one of the club’s strongest players so far.

If he were to be absent, it is Ersson and Felix Sandstrom, two inexperienced goalkeepers, who will have to do the work in front of the team’s goal.
