Bucks hold their own and beat the Magic 109-102

ORLANDO (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo scored five of his 34 points in the final two minutes Monday to help the Milwaukee Bucks stop Orlando’s tumbling attempt to beat the Magic 109-102.

Bobby Portis added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Bucks, Jrue Holiday had 17 points, eight boards and 10 assists.

Franz Wagner led Orlando with 25 points. Markelle Fultz and Paolo Banchero added 20 points each. Banchero also had 12 rebounds for the Magic, who have dropped nine straight.

Antetokounmpo, Sandro Mamukelashvili and Holiday hit 3-pointers in Milwaukee’s 16-0 first-half run and Orlando went scoreless for nearly 5 1/2 minutes. With this run, the Bucks went up by 11 points and increased to 15 in the middle of the second period.

Fultz and Banchero led the charge in the third quarter to put the Magic back in contention. With a three-pointer, Franz Wagner left the score at 69-62 and with a layup near the end of the fourth quarter they closed to 98-92.

Terrence Ross’ 3-pointer dropped Orlando to four points with 2:20 remaining, but the referee overturned Antetokounmpo’s foul with two minutes to go. The star returned to the free throw line and Mortiz Wagner fouled out.

Antetokounmpo made both of his free throws and the subsequent layup as the Bucs extended their lead to 104-97 with 1:22 to play.
