J-585

On Monday December 19, 585 days before the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the first event of this system will be held: the Vendée Games. For one day, around 400 young people from Vendée will be able to experience all the protocol of the Olympic Games (competitions, podiums, ceremonies, etc.) around four indoor sports: basketball, handball, volleyball and judo. In the form of tournaments, challenges or qualifications, the four sports committees are responsible for organizing an event each in order to bring young people together around their sports and allow them to experience the Games at the departmental level. ” The aim is to introduce the under-14s to the spirit of the Games and allow them to experience a day in the shoes of an Olympic athlete. “, explains Jean-Philippe Guignard, president of Cdos, the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of Vendée.
Thus, for the occasion, the department was divided into six distinct geographical areas and an anthem, a flag and an Olympic charter were created. Each delegation will have its own color: blue, yellow, black, green, red or white.
