Although the results of the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL) this season are disastrous, this is not a reason for drastic changes, Josh Davidson, president of hockey operations of the unit, said in a conversation with The Athletic.

It has already been announced that on the night of December 8, “Blue Jackets” lost 4:9 to Buffalo “Sabres” represented by Zemgus Girgensons. It was the team’s third straight loss, sixth in the last seven games and 17th this season, which puts Columbus in last place not only in the Metropolitan Division, but also in the entire Eastern Conference.

“We must not panic. It can’t get any worse than it was on Wednesday [pret “Sabres”]. But this does not mean that now I will go and destroy everything in my path. It doesn’t work that way. You have to be methodical in everything you do and my job is to keep calm in what I do. You can’t just take someone off the waiver list or make a big deal because there just aren’t any at this time of year,” says Davidson.

“We played like fools against Sabres. We were really like a group of fools. It was very awkward, from start to finish, and there’s no way you can do it to embellish,” Davidson said.

It should be noted that after the failure against the Buffalo “Blue Jackets”, the management got together, but nothing loud decisions were not made and it is expected that they will not be made in the near future. Last year, Columbus extended the contract of general manager Jarmo Kekalainen until 2025.
