Beaumont-le-Roger. Pierre Lambert, black belt in judo at 73

He started judo about 50 years ago but had not yet managed, for various reasons, to win his black belt. It is now done for Pierre Lambert, licensee and president of the CS Beaumont-le-Roger (Eure)who thus won the Grail at the age of 73.

“I didn’t think it would be such a joy,” says Pierre Lambert, who received his 1st dan black belt from Christophe Moreau, the teacher who gave him the brown belt in 1993. Aymerick Corbel, who replaced Christophe Moreau at the dojoreminds us: “when you start judo, the black belt is the objective of judokas, it is to win the Holy Grail”.

He put too much pressure on himself

But the path was long for Pierre Lambert, who started judo in the seventies. However, he was never discouraged, despite a fall that blocked him for a long time and the excessive pressure he put on himself.

On the arbitration side, he also successfully passed his diploma as a federal referee which remained to be validated during the passage of the 1st Dan. We cannot succeed alone. “I was supported and helped,” emphasizes Pierre Lambert.

For fifteen years, Pierre Lambert has been the president of a living judo club. “It is with satisfaction, he says, that I see him progress in number of licenses and black belts, and that he obtains results and that he gets involved in local life. The club spreads the practice of judo in the municipalities, annexes have been created at La Barre-en-Ouche, Barquet and Nassandres.
