Batnia remains without the semi-finals of the IIHF Champions League

Latvian forward Oskars Batņa lost on Tuesday together with the Finnish team Mikeli “Jukurit” in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Champions League and ended the international season.

“Jukurit” lost 1:3 (0:2, 1:0, 0:1) to the Swedish club “Lulea” at home and lost 2:8 in the sum of two matches.

Batnias was on the ice for 12 minutes and 23 seconds in the return game, ending the match with a neutral efficiency ratio.

“Jukurit” was the only team represented by Latvian hockey players that entered the elimination tournament.

In the previous season, the Swedish club Engelholm “Rogle” won the IIHF Champions League tournament.

The tournament was held for the first time in the 2014/2015 season.
