Basketball agents Bērzins and Porzingis establish a joint agency

“Altius Basket Agency” managed by basketball agent Mārtiņas Bērziņas has merged with Jānis Porzingis’ basketball agency, creating a joint agency “Future Sports Group”.

Company representatives inform that the goal is to become the leading basketball agency in Northern Europe, mainly developing and promoting Latvian basketball players, but not excluding the possibility of representing other talented athletes of the region as well.

Currently, the combined agency represents ten Latvian men’s national team players who participated in World Cup qualification, as well as seven Latvian women’s national team players. The agency claims to represent the majority of the most talented young basketball players in Latvia who were born between 2000 and 2008.

Bērziņš and Porziņgi jointly came to the decision that they should merge and create an even more powerful sports agency, in order to maximally help both to properly guide young Latvian basketball talents and to find opportunities in top-level European clubs for Latvia’s best basketball players. The main goal of the agency is to develop Latvian basketball as a whole.

Bērziņš is sure that the two make a good tandem – Porzingis has experience both as a professional player, playing in many European countries and in the “corridors” of the National Basketball Association (NBA), while Bērziņš has long-term experience as the club’s general manager and sports director, as well as in the last six creating and managing his own basketball agency.

In Europe, the agency currently represents Latvian national basketball players such as Rolands Šmits, Mareks Mejeris, Kristers Zoriks, Aigars Šķēle, Mārtiņš Laksa, Jānis Bērziņš, Ojārs Siliņš and Kaspars Bērziņš, young players such as Mārci Šteinberg and Artūrs Žagar, as well as young talents, including Adrian Andzev, who is growing in the system of “Real” Madrid. On the other hand, among basketball players, women’s national team players such as Anete Šteinberga, Ieva Pulvere, Kate Vilk and Paula Strautmane, as well as young players who are in the systems of strong European clubs – Laura Melder, Vanesa Jas, Luize Sila and Krista Lukaševica – are under the auspices of the agency.

SIA “Future Sports Group” was registered already in March of this year. The share capital of the company is EUR 2,800, and it is owned by Porziņgis (45%), Bērziņš (40%) and Oskar Lusis (15%), according to “firmas.lv” information.
