Barcala scores a triplet in Huelva

Iziar Barcala was proclaimed triple runner-up in Spain this weekend in the Badminton National held in the Huelva town of Palos de la Frontera, where she was accompanied by coaches Jesús Pereiro and Manu Brea. Despite playing very good matches, such as the women’s doubles in which they went to three sets and managed to go ahead on the scoreboard, the gold medal escaped Barcala by 2 points. All in all, the native of Estrada managed to get on the drawer in the second position of the three modalities, “but with the satisfaction and smile that accompanied her throughout the tournament, of having fought until the last moment”, they remember from her club of origin. The entity also conveyed its congratulations to Raúl Bergua from Huesca and Paula Yedra from Cantabria “for this excellent tournament”.

At CB A Estrada they were yesterday “proud of Iziar’s season and all the progression it is having, since we are sure it will continue to give us much joy”, they underlined from their different social media accounts. Badminton player A Estrada Darío Míguez also participated in the Andalusian event, who was left on the verge of medals in the mixed doubles after completing high-level matches.

Iziar Barcala played the women’s singles against the local María Luisa Jiménez, the mixed doubles against Mario Rodríguez and María Luisa Jiménez, also from Andalusia, and the women’s doubles against the couple Sofía García and María Luisa Jiménez.
