Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November 2022, the club of archers of Hérouville-Saint-Clair, near Caen (calvados), organizes an indoor shooting contest open to all the archers of Normandy and elsewhere
, recalls Eric Christian, its president. It is a qualifying championship for the department, the regional and France.
Official referees will be present: We will have several referees, two to three per start, and referees in training, from the federation.
Organizing an official competition implies certain obligations, in particular that ofhave at least one club referee
. The Hérouville club has three referees and a fourth in training.
Podium ambitions
The club of Hérouville will not make up the numbers: We hire about fifteen archers, with a few champions, in particular Axel Rouviller, departmental champion in senior recurve, who will defend his title, and Lucie Meyer-Bach, departmental and regional champion, champion of France in the youngest.
The competition is open to the public, free access. This is an opportunity to see archers using mostly recurve bows, but also compound bows and bare bows, i.e. recurve bows without sights or stabilizers
. All at a distance of 18 meters.
Four departures in the weekend
On the show side, the shots will follow one another: There can be up to 44 shooters each half day. Over the weekend, there are four starts or four shooting sessions.
Each shooter shoots six arrows in 20 rounds. The club expects up to 120 shooters. Registrations are open until the last moment.
Refreshment and catering
Very good homemade cakes will be sold at low prices. We will also have a refreshment bar and sandwiches.
