Club Brugge will resume the Jupiler Pro League on Monday with a home match against OH Leuven, but the Dutch champion will do that without Andreas Skov Olsen. The 22-year-old Dane is not injured, but Club Brugge did not give any further explanation about his absence. Skov Olsen did, however, shortly after the news came out. “The coach chose to exclude me.”

answer, yes

On Instagram Stories, Skov Olsen himself gave text and explanation in a message that has since been deleted (see photo below). “I wish I could help the team, but the coach chose to exclude me from the team,” he said. “I am not injured, as rumor has it. I wish the team all the best.”

The absence of the 22-year-old winger comes very suddenly. He played two games at the World Cup with Denmark, which did not survive the group stage. Last Wednesday he came on for Club Brugge at the start of the second half in the Croky Cup match against STVV. The national champion surprisingly lost that match with heavy figures (1-4).

At Club Brugge, Skov Olsen has already played 21 games across all competitions this season, in which he scored eight times and handed out four assists.
