Alexander Gabler from Remscheider TV won a seventh place in the class up to 73 kg at the Judo Grand Slam in Tokyo (Japan).

The 24-year-old NWJV starter was able to win his first two fights against Mikhail Tsoutlasvili of Greece and Arthur Margelidon of Canada. In the quarterfinals, he lost Wazaari to Ksawery Morka of Poland and in the consolation round Gabler lost to Abdul Malik Umayeva of Belgium.

Nadja Bazynski from TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen was eliminated from the competition in round two by Geke von den Berg from the Netherlands.
