His agent, Matt Colleran, however, joined him quickly to inform him that nothing was official, before confirming the news to him a few minutes later. He was acquired along with outfielder Jesse Winker, while the Mariners got second baseman Kolten Wong in return.

“I am happy. It wasn’t too surprising, honestly, revealed Toro, met by journalist Benoit Rioux, of the “Journal de Montreal”, at his training ground on Saturday. I kinda knew what the possibilities were for me.”

In his first full season in Seattle, Toro fell short on a personal basis, playing just 109 games and posting a .185 batting average. He also hit 10 long balls and drove in 35 runs. He hasn’t played in a single of the Mariners’ five postseason games.

“Sometimes just a change of air can help,” added Toro. I haven’t been told about my role with the Brewers yet, but I know what I have to do.”

This means that at only 25 years old, Toro will already be on his third team in major league baseball, having also moved from the Houston Astros to the Mariners in July 2021.

The Quebecer has also spent a few weeks in Quebec after the elimination of his former team in the playoffs, but will return to Florida in December to complete his preparation for the next campaign. He will then take part in the activities of the Cactus League, in February, in Arizona.
