A book keeps the centennial memory of Vista Alegre

No matter how many years pass, the memories that keep the essence of Good views they will stay forever. This evening took place the presentation of the book that tells the stories of Girona’s first modern stadium, taking advantage of the fact that this year celebrates its centenary. More than a hundred people have attended the Lounge of the Municipal Theater to travel to the past for a while thanks to the interventions of the journalist Jordi Grau, the Minister for Research and Universities Joaquím Nadal, the historian Josep Clara, the former Girona FC player Jordi Danés and the director of Gavarres Publishing House Àngel Madrià in an endearing event that served astribute to the recently deceased Xavi Agustí and Isidre Sala.

the field of Vista Alegre was inaugurated on June 29, 1922 with a match between Unió Deportiva Girona and FC Barcelona, ​​when football was just starting to become popular in the city and it wanted to be competitive. It quickly became a reference, triggering the foundation of Girona FC on July 25, 1930 who was born there and grew up next to the white-and-red fans until 1970 when he moved to Montilivi.

Book View Alegre 100 years of Girona’s first modern stadium (1922-2022) from Gavarres Publishing, with a foreword by Joaquim Nadal, introduction by Josep Clara, interviews by Martí Ayats, Jordi Grau, Arnau Madrià and Jordi Nierga, chronicles by Josep Clara, Josep M. Fonalleras and Jordi Bosch and the collaboration of Albert Mateos, explains from a few witnesses some of the most outstanding moments of what was the meeting place par excellence for the people of Girona at the time with the aim of keep the collective memory alive now that the field is physically gone. In addition, collect a photo album which shows the reality that was lived there and which will make more than one feel nostalgic. The price is 25 euros and it can already be found in bookstores.

After the presentation, the documentary “100 years of the Vista Alegre camp” was screened at the Truffaut cinema.
