WTA Finals : Elise Mertens a final du doubles

In the semi-final, the Belgian-Russian duo won in two sets (6-1; 6-1) against the American-Dutch duo Desirae Krawczyk / Demi Schuurs, after an hour of play. Mertens and Kudermetova will meet in defending Czech champions Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova. They won 7-6 (7/5) and 6-2 against Ukrainian Lyudmyla Kichenok and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko earlier in the day. Last year, Krejcikova and Siniakova beat Elise Mertens and Taiwan’s Hsieh Su-Wei in the Masters final 6-3, 6-4. For Mertens, this is his fourth consecutive participation in the doubles Masters. Mertens and Kudermetova won the WTA 500 tournament in Dubai earlier this year. They also lost the finals in Doha (WTA 1000), Miami (WTA 1000) and Rosmalen (WTA 250). With the Chinese Shuai Zhang, the Belgian N.1 also lost the finals in Birmingham (WTA 250) and Wimbledon.
