On November 14th, the Mitsui Golden Glove Award was announced. Yuki Okabayashi of the Chunichi Dragons won the Central League outfielder category with 173 votes, second only to Yasutaka Shiomi (191 votes) of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.

Through the team, Okabayashi made a happy comment, saying, “I made a lot of mistakes, but I tried my best to do my best. It’s not an award that’s easy to get, so I’m really happy.”

Okabayashi, who is in his third year of high school, is having a big break this season. He has appeared in 142 games, up more than 100 from 24 last season. He was mainly entrusted with the defense of the right wing, and has saved many pinches by showing catches, laser beams and light grounds.
