VIDEO ⟩ “Penguins” wins second consecutive victory

The “Penguins” beat the Toronto “Maple Leafs” 4-2 (1-1, 1-1, 2-0) on the road, winning their second consecutive victory.

Due to the injury, Blūgers still hasn’t played this season, but a week ago, the club’s general manager Ron Hextall expressed hope that the Latvian hockey player could return to the field in the near future.

Zach Eston-Reese put the hosts in the lead in the first period, but with less than a minute left in the period, Yevgeny Malkin sent the puck into the goal of the Toronto unit and tied the game. In the second minute of the second period, Jason Zucker made it 2-1 for the Penguins, but by the end of the third period, he still used the majority and tied the score thanks to William Nylander’s accurate shot.

Brock McGinn scored the game-winning goal in the decisive period, while Jake Guentzel sent the puck into an empty goal in the last minute of the game.

The day before, the Pittsburgh team managed to break a seven-game losing streak and beat the Washington “Capitals” 4:1.

“Penguins” with 14 points won in the same matches ranks 16th in the Eastern Conference, while “Maple Leafs” ranks eighth with 17 points in 15 games.

The Pittsburgh unit will play its next match on Saturday, when it will visit the Montreal Canadiens.
