Kristianu said in the interview that the club has betrayed him and wants to get rid of the player.

According to information available to The Athletic, United are looking to terminate the contract with Ronaldo, who is currently preparing for the start of the FIFA World Cup with Portugal, and want to apply legal sanctions against him. The Manchester team believes that with this interview the player violated the terms of the contract, which may result in its termination.

Meanwhile, the British media “The Daily Mail” clarifies that “United” is not going to pay the Portuguese 16 million British pounds (18 million euros), which is due to him according to the contract, which is currently valid until the summer of 2023. The club does not want to pay Ronaldo compensation because they believe it will be “reward for lack of loyalty”.

Meanwhile, “The Telegraph” states that the Manchester team does not want Ronaldo to return to the club after the 2022 World Championship, when the English Premier League season resumes. The Portuguese has actually become an unwanted person in the “United” team – both in its dressing room and on the training grounds. Both coach Erik ten Hegge and all team players want Ronaldo to leave.

It is not yet known how long it will take to complete all the legal formalities, but United want the situation to be resolved as quickly and accurately as possible. The Manchester club does not want scandals and ugly showdowns that can damage the club’s financial situation and reputation, so they refused to immediately terminate the contract with Ronaldo. It is also noted that, despite the situation, “United” plans to show respect to the striker and does not want the club’s actions to prevent him from playing in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
