Two-time Golden Boot winner and Porto legend Fernando Gomes has died

Gomes won the Golden Boot for Europe’s top scorer in 1983 and 1985. In his career, he played 431 matches in the Portuguese league and scored 330 goals. In addition to Porto, with whom he won five domestic titles and also the European Cup in 1987, he also worked in Gijón in Spain and in Sporting Lisbon.

The best Portuguese footballer of 1983 played for the national team in 47 matches and scored 13 goals. He was a member of the bronze medal team from the 1984 European Championships.
