This Saturday, the WIBK Traditional Judo Championship (old rules) was held in Geneva, where the Tudense judoka Lino Martínez participated, who won the title of World Champion in the M6 and -81kg category by winning the opponent in the final. French, who was the current champion of the category. The two won their respective leagues and in the final, Lino Martínez dominated the match from start to finish, winning by hippon.

Lino Martínez came to this Championship with a lot of desire since after winning it in 2017 in Belgium, he had not been on the podium again, staying in the qualifying rounds in the 2018 and 2019 editions and then due to the COVID break.

This is a good year for the judoka from Tudense who started the season badly and with a lot of doubts, not qualifying in the Spanish Cup in Seville, nor in the International in Lisbon in March, from there he won the Subchampionship of Portugal and the Subchampionship of Spain from Pamplona. In July he went to Rotterdam to the World Police and Fire Fighters, WPFG (Word Police Fire Games) from where he returned with the title of Grapping World Champion and a bronze in Judo. In November he won the Marseille International to end this year with this WIBK World Champion title.

Two World Championships for Tui, something of which Lino feels very proud, being a great ambassador for his city, which he boasts about and makes known on all his trips. The Tudense wants to thank his sponsors and hopes to renew with them for the following season.
