Interview with Marie Ueda (Part 2)

Marie Ueda is an assistant on the popular YouTube channel “Uehara Koji’s chat soul” with 576,000 subscribers. In the second part of her interview, we asked her about the “Kamikai” that left an impression on her and the projects she would like to do in the future.

――Among the various projects in chat soul, please tell us the “God times” that Ueda-san thinks of.
Ueda It’s hard to choose because every episode has so much content, but… A collaboration with Nippon Television’s baseball broadcast “DRAMATIC BASEBALL” (this year’s opening game, the Giants vs. Chunichi on March 25th) , September 10th Giant vs Chunichi) has a special feeling. When I was an announcer for Nippon Television, I had never been involved in a baseball broadcast, so I never thought that I would be involved in a broadcast broadcast at my old station in this way.
The guests at that time were Mr. Kimiyasu Kudo and Mr. Yoshinobu Takahashi. It’s amazing just to be lined up with Mr. Uehara there. I was worried, “Is it okay for me to stay here?” (laughs). It was a pleasure to be with everyone who would surely be surprised if they knew me when I was a student when I started to like baseball.
――How was Mr. Uehara at the time of the collaboration?
Ueda: That sounds like a lot of fun. Mr. Kudo is a big senior in the baseball world, but when Mr. Yoshinobu and Mr. Naonari Takahashi, who are the same age, are guests, I feel that Mr. Uehara is more present. The feeling of talking to Kyakkya about silly things is like elementary school or junior high school boy talk (laughs).
In addition to looking cool in uniform, as a fan, I’m sure you’d also like to see how Mr. Uehara and the guests usually talk and their relationship. There are times when he hardly talks about baseball, but I think it’s only because he’s a small talker that he can be seen like that.
The female staff who is always in charge of my hair and makeup doesn’t know much about baseball, but after the recording, she says, “It was really fun, so I want to watch it again! I’ll check it out when it’s released!” There are many. It would be ideal if someone with no contact with baseball could say that. Of course, the axis of the content is baseball, but I think that the charm of this channel is that you can share purely fun times.
