The Yecla Tennis Club school was present in the Creciendo en Valores tournament in Denia, while Ángel Alonso was proclaimed runner-up in the Mapfre Touchtennis League tournament

Ángel Alonso was unable to defeat the Italian Enrico Burzi in the fifth and last tournament of the MAPFRE Touchtennis League held at the Santomera Municipal Sports Center. The Italian prevailed against the YCT player Ángel Alonso by 4-2 1-4 4-2 4-1. The tournament of this unknown sport that is practiced on a court similar to tennis but with reduced dimensions and an adapted foam racket and ball, has had 26 players from four different countries.

In the third phase of the XLV Alicante tennis circuit, the tennis player Fran Rico was proclaimed runner-up in Almoradí in the youngest category despite not being able to play the final, unfortunately, due to being ill. In the juvenile and infant category Virginia Almendros said goodbye in the semifinals of the third phase (in the juvenile and infant category), played in Torrevieja and Denia respectively.

On the other hand, members of the Yecla Tennis Club school traveled to Los Alcázares to play the New Promises Tournament. Marcos Morlán was defeated in the juvenile team, in the round of 16. Antonio Cantelar went to the next round of the youngest team, to which he arrived as seed number 2.

During the Yecla amateur circuit played at the Yecla Tennis Club, in the sub 10 category David Bernal was proclaimed runner-up and Alberto Muñoz champion of the consolation phase. In the sub12 category, Alfonso Hernández won the champion’s trophy, beating José Navarro in the final, while Jorge Bernal took the consolation runner-up. David Zúñiga was proclaimed champion of the tournament and Marco Gómez runner-up in the sub15 category.

AMATEUR CIRCUIT1

Concluding the large number of activities carried out by the members of the tennis school in our town, 20 students traveled to the town of Denia to play the team tournament “Growing in Values”. There they were able to enjoy a day of tennis and coexistence at the Denia tennis club, in which 10 clubs from all over the National geography disputed the day. A complete success for a school that does not stop growing within the national scene.
