Matthew Slivinskis, who scored 14 points, did not save the opponents from the loss. “RTU Robežsardze”/”Jūrmala” is third with 17 points in 11 matches, Jēkabpils “Lūšu” team is one position lower with 14 points in nine matches, while “Ezerzeme”/DU is in sixth position in the seven-team competition with eight points in nine matches.

In the Baltic Men’s Volleyball League (BVVL) this season, Latvia is represented by “RTU Robežsardze”/”Jūrmala”, Jēkabpils “Lūši” and “Ezerzeme”/”Daugavpils University”, while Estonia is represented by four teams – Tartu “Bigbank”, Tallinn “Selver”/” TalTech”, “Parnu” and “Barrus”/”Voru”.

Seven teams compete against each other in a four-round tournament. The winning team will immediately enter the final four, while the other teams will determine three more members of the final four in three pairs. If the score is tied after two games, a “golden set” will be played up to 15 points.

The winner of the main tournament will have the preference to organize the final four tournament, and the decisive games are scheduled for March 3 and 4. In the previous season, the highest place among the Latvian teams was taken by the Jēkabpils team, which was sixth in the main tournament, none of the domestic clubs overcoming the barrier of the quarter-finals, but the Tartu Bigbank volleyball players became the champions.
