The Téléthon du Giennois festivities begin this Friday: discover the program

The Telethon is celebrating its thirty-sixth candle this year. In Gien, the event was launched in 1994, by the Lions club, driven by Jean-René Kéraudran. Previously, from 1987 to 1993, the Lions of the Sully-Gien club held hotlines at the telephone center for pledges in Orleans.

For its twenty-eighth anniversary, the Téléthon du Giennois sees the great return of firefighters from the fire and rescue center of Gien. The firefighters will be present at the Téléthon village, organized on Place Jean-Jaurès, Saturday, December 3, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. They had not participated since 2018.

Young and old alike can admire an intervention vehicle up close and take part in a course designed by the firefighters. It will also be possible to leave with your souvenir photo and some objects bearing the image of the Loiret departmental fire and rescue service (key ring, etc.).

The second proposes to discover the little-known alleys of Gien, thanks to a 5-kilometre route (from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.). Participation is 2 euros minimum, with a prize given to each volunteer. For its part, the Lions club will sell buns, roses and Telethon items.

The Giennois will also find the traditional Raquethonsupervised by the Tennis club of Gien, the AS Gien table tennis and the Badminton club of Gien. Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., several meetings, in teams of two people, will take place in four disciplines: table tennis, badminton, tennis and padel. The tournament is open to licensees and non-licensees. Registrations (10 euros donated to the Telethon) are made on the website www.tennisclub-gien.com.
