This Wednesday will take place in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas the draw for the second round of the Copa del Rey, in which 56 teams will seek to know their pairings. Among them will not be the four teams that will play the Spanish Super Cup (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Betis and Valencia), which will not enter the drums until the next round.
The draw for this second round of the Copa del Rey, which will begin at 5:00 p.m., will not be pure. As in the first round, the lower category teams will face each other again, making it impossible, for example, for a match between First Division clubs to take place. The teams classified in the first round will be divided into five drums:
Bomb 1 (the 14 First Division teams): Atlético de Madrid, Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Athletic, Osasuna, Celta, Rayo, Elche, Espanyol, Getafe, Mallorca, Valladolid and Girona.
Bomb 2: (the 16 Second Division teams): Granada, Levante, Alavés, Eibar, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Oviedo, Cartagena, Burgos, Mirandés, Ibiza, Sporting, Málaga, Andorra, Albacete and Racing.
Bomb 3 (the eleven First Federation teams): UD Logroñés, Nàstic, Linares, Pontevedra, Mérida, Intercity, Ceuta, Numancia, Eldense, La Nucía and Alcorcón.
Bomb 4 (The 13 teams of Second RFEF): Sestao River, Arenas, Cacereño, Coria, Gernika, Atlético Saguntino, CD Ibiza, Atlético Paso, Diocesan, Youth of Torremolinos, Arnedo, Guijuelo and Guadalajara.
Bomb 5 (the two semifinalists of the Federation Cup): Real Union and Arenteiro.
WHERE TO SEE THE CUP DRAW LIVE AND DIRECT
The mechanism for the pairings in the draw next Wednesday at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas will be as follows:
– Arenteiro and Real Unión against two Primera Division teams.
– The twelve remaining First Division teams, against 12 Second RFEF teams.
– The remaining RFEF Second Division team and the 13 RFEF First Division teams will be paired with 14 of the 16 Second Division clubs present in the draw.
– The four remaining Second Division teams will face each other in the two remaining qualifiers.
The matches of this second round are scheduled in the season calendar for December 21, three days after the World Cup final in Qatar. The meetings of this round could be spaced between the 20th and 22nd of that same month.
Second round: a single match will be played on Wednesday, December 21, just a few days after the end of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
